MEDICAL AREA - PROFESSIONAL DEVICES

Why sequential?

Sequential means that the device performs a massage on lower and upper limbs, following a physiological path periphery (foot or hand) - center (hip or shoulder) direction, or in medical terms distal to proximal direction.

GOALS

The therapy of venous insufficiency and all its consequences (swollen and painful legs, ulcers, edema, varicose veins, etc...)

Lymphostasis therapy (lymphoedema, edema, etc...)

The prevention of these problems and their aggravation.

Prevention of deep vein thrombosis..

Aesthetic problems related to the previous rpoblems

Oedema Reduction after sport accident

Reduction of recovery times for athletes

WHAT IT DOES

It performs a massage through a pressure wave generated by a special device and applied to the limbs by means of special garments (legs/feet, arm sleeves, abdominal stips) equipped, internally, with pneumatic bags which, when inflated, exert the desired pressure.

DO ALL COMPRESSION THERAPY DEVICES OPERATE IN THE SAME WAY?

No. What distinguishes different devices is the so-called "operative cycle", i.e. the way in which the device applies pressure through its garments.
We are talking about the sequence with which the equipment inflates the pneumatic bags inside the garments themselves.

It is clear observing this section of the leg sleeve, where the internal pockets are highlighted, that with the closed leg the compression becomes circular and, depending of the sequence, pushes the stagnated fluids in a certain direction in order to remove them .
For example, what happens if the cycle begins by inflating the central pneumatic bag?

The fluids (venous blood and lymph) are pushed in two directions: periphery - center (a) and center - periphery (b). While action (a) is correct because it is directed along the physiological path of the fluids, action (b) is incorrect because it is directed in the opposite direction increasing the problem.

If, on the other hand, the loop sequence starts like this:

We can deduce the same previous conclusions because the flow, along direction (b), is not physiological and increases stasis.
This compression also creates a "tourniquet" to the normal flow of the leg.
WE CAN THEREFORE CONCLUDE THAT ALL ACTIONS ARE NOT THE SAME AND CONSEQUENTLY ALL COMPRESSION THERAPY EQUIPMENTS DO NOT OBTAIN THE SAME RESULTS. WE CAN ALSO SAY THAT SOME COMPRESSION CYCLE CAN RISK TO DAMAGE THE PHYSIOLOGICAL MECHANISM OF THE FLUIDS.

WHAT IS THE CORRECT OPERATING CYCLE?

The right operative cycle is that operates the emptying of the limb from the fluids which stagnate.
The SEQUENTIAL CYCLE is the correct one: it starts from the periphery of the limb and reaches the base of the limb itself, subsequently inflating the pneumatic bags, keeping them inflated: at this point the device deflates all the pneumatic bags.

SYNTHESIS

TO OBTAIN A REAL AND EFFECTIVE DISTAL - PROXIMAL MASSAGE THAT DRAINS THE FLUIDS ALONG THEIR PHYSIOLOGICAL DIRECTION, THE COMPRESSION THERAPY DEVICE MUST BE SEQUENTIAL, AND GARMENTS SHOULD BE CONSTITUTED BY A SERIES OF PNEUMATIC BAGS INSERTED INSIDE THEM, PARTIALLY OVERLAPPED, AND SEQUENTIALLY INFLATED STARTING FROM THE MOST PERIPHERAL ONE (HAND OR FOOT) UNTIL THE LAST.

ONLY AT THIS POINT ALL THE PNEUMATIC BAGS CAN BE DEFLATED AT THE SAME TIME, READY TO BE INFLATED AGAIN DURING THE NEXT CYCLE. THIS SEQUENTIAL CYCLE THEREFORE CORRECTLY ALLOWS TO PUSH THE FLUIDS IN THEIR NATURAL DIRECTION, WITH CONSEQUENTLY DEFLATING THE LIMB.
